100 years ago, John McEnroe (Liss Angus) and Leo McEnroe (Lisduff Angus) grandfather purchased the first land at Liss. To mark the 100 years of farming Liss, we will have a Great Centenary Celebration Sale. This event will take place on the 9th of August 2025. It will include:
- a farm tour on both farms (8th of August)
- an elite sale of 50 heifers and 10 bulls
- Tullamore Show will be on the 10th of August
The sale, which promises to be the absolute highlight of the weekend, will consist of 50 high quality heifers ranging from 9-24 months of age. There will be a mixture of in-calf and maiden heifers. There will also be 10 select bulls sold on the day. This will be a high health status sale.
The weekend will start on Friday the 8th of August with an open day on both herds. Liss and Lisduff Angus are ten minute drive from each other and a one hour drive from Dublin airport. This will provide visitors an opportunity to view the respective cow herds. On Saturday morning, viewing of the sale cattle will take place, followed by the sale commencing at 3:30pm on-farm at Liss.
To end the weekend, you can visit Ireland’s national show and biggest display of all cattle breeds in the country, Tullamore Show. It’s only one hour and thirty minutes drive from Liss and will take place the following day, Sunday, 10th of August, in Tullamore, County Offaly. Tullamore show to Dublin airport is a one hour and thirty minute drive. This promises to be an action packed and exciting weekend for visitors from Ireland and the rest of Europe and one not to be missed!
